Early Interceptive Treatment
Early diagnosis of orthodontic problems not only provides the best chance of properly timing your child’s treatment, but also allows for the highest probability of success in correcting your child’s malocclusion. We provide the best care for your child's orthodontic needs.
Optimal Orthodontic Treatment
Your child is unique, and so is his or her skeletal growth and dental development. The ideal time to begin your child’s treatment is dependent on many factors and often does not correlate with age or the number of baby teeth left in the mouth.
Orthodontics is all about timing. Beginning treatment at the proper time period assures the best result with the least amount of time and financial contribution.
Early Orthodontic Treatment FAQs
Here are some common questions and answers about brining your child to the orthodontist are early as possible.
7 years old. This is a recommendation by our orthodontists and the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO).
At 7 years old, the adult 1st molars have erupted. This allows our orthodontist to get an initial baseline diagnosis for your child’s bite, guiding future treatment and any early treatment recommendations.
An orthodontic consultation does not necessitate orthodontic treatment. In fact, most children do not need early orthodontic treatment.
The appropriate time to begin your child’s early interceptive orthodontics will vary depending on the type and severity of their malocclusion, as well as their stage in dental development.
Our orthodontists believe that early orthodontic treatment should only be administered when absolutely necessary. After a thorough consultation, you deserve and can expect an honest recommendation for the timing of your child’s treatment.
